HOS Search – Meet the Committee

Dear IRDS Community,

I hope this email finds everyone safe and healthy.

I would like to introduce to all of you the amazing Search Committee Team that has been working tirelessly on behalf of our school community. The communication regarding the search for a new Head of School has been coming from Taryn and me, but we are just the representatives of a committee of people who have been, and will continue to be, an integral part of this process. The committee includes staff members, community members and board members all of whom bring different skills, perspectives and resources to our search.

Please meet all of the members of the the committee:

Taryn Reitman
HOS Search Committee Chair, IRDS Board Member and Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist. Taryn has been working with children in Daycares/Preschools and Elementary Schools in her pediatric private practice for the last 20 years.  As a parent of 2 children at IRDS, Taryn is honored to be a part of the HOS search.

Valerie Segall
Director of Early Childhood Education
Part of Heschel West/IRDS community for the past 24 years: as a parent, volunteer, a Parent Org. Board Member, a substitute teacher, a K teacher, a 3rd grade teacher, a TK teacher and now our ECE Director. “I love this place (and it’s people!)”

Ariela Nehemne
Hebrew/Judaic teacher at IRDS and a Hebrew teacher mentor at The Center, Ariela is a mom to Jonathan who is in 1st grade and Daniel who graduated from IRDS 3 years ago after being a student at IRDS for 9 years.

Gali Gill Yemini
Psychologist working as the Executive Clinical Director for a company providing intensive inpatient and outpatient Mental Health Treatment for adults and adolescents. Owner of consulting business on standard of care for mental health treatment, and organizational performance improvement. Gali is a parent of 2 beautiful children at IRDS.

David Weisz
Business Performance Director at Amgen, with broad experience in change management, strategic communication, and long-range planning for both corporate and non-profit organizations. Parent of two current and one former Ilan Ramon students.

Eric Winter
Sports & Entertainment Consultant. Eric and his wife, Joanna Katz, have been a part of the Ilan Ramon Day School community for 7 years – as parents, volunteers and donors. Their son, Henry, has been a student since 2013 (TK) and will be graduating from the 5th grade this May.

And myself, Heidi Hershman, mom of Treasure, Paradise and Sunshine.  Professionally, I am an Investment Advisor and build financial plans for families. I walked onto campus 10 years ago and for the last 3 ½ years it has been my honor to serve all of you as the Board Chair.
