Full Student Return to Campus and Updated Travel Policy

Tuesday, February 23, 2021

Dear Parents,

As we begin to ramp up and welcome ALL of our students full time back to campus, we wanted to take a few moments to update and remind everyone about our Covid safety and health protocols and a change to the Travel Policy.  We are so grateful for everyone’s efforts and are proud of our success in creating a safe and healthy learning environment. But we still need your help to continue maintaining this for everyone on campus.

Daily Carpool
ECE / Kindergarten drop off and pick up is in the front, 1st- 5th grade drop off and pick up is in the back parking lot. If you have children in both, you need to go through both carpool lines.

Drop off Times
Kindergarten: between 7:55 and 8:10
ECE Early Care: between 8:15 and 8:30
ECE: between 8:55 and 9:10
First – Fifth Grade: 7:55 am
Pick-up Times
ECE / Kindergarten early pick up:  2:00
ECE / Kdg Full Day: between 3:15 and 3:30
First – Second Grade: 3:00 pm
Third – Fifth Grade: 3:15 pm
  • Please complete the daily health screening before coming to school, which includes taking your child’s temperature at home.
  • We also want to remind all parents to wear a mask during drop off and pick up in order to protect the staff helping children get in and out of your cars.
  • PLEASE USE YOUR OWN PEN for those who need to sign in and out.  Keep a few extras in your car.
  • Make sure your child has a couple of extra masks in their backpack.

Friday’s Schedule for First – Fifth Grade
Between now and our Spring Break, the current Friday minimum day schedule that has been in place for 1st and 2nd grade will continue, and will be the same for 3rd and 5th.   We are hopeful that after Spring Break we will be able to adjust this to full day, and we promise to keep everyone posted.

  •   1st and 2nd: Friday 12:00 pm pick up
  •   3rd and 5th:  Friday 12:15 pm pick up

Revised Travel Policy
Over the last several days there have been several questions about the travel policy in effect for the school. Several months ago the Board decided that it was appropriate for us to align with the recommendations and policies of the LA County Department of Health, who have jurisdiction over these issues for our school. Therefore, as the county has now adjusted this policy, so have we.

Our new travel policy, effective immediately, now allows for travel anywhere within the State of California without a required quarantine.

It reads as follows:

Travel outside the United States:
For any reason, should your family travel outside of the United States (even if it is a quick weekend jaunt over the border) your child will be required to quarantine at home for 10 days after your return to the United States, before returning to in-person learning.
Travel outside the State of California:
Pursuant to the current Travel Directive by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health from February 3, 2021:  While there still exists a strong recommendation not to travel more than 120 miles from your home, if your family travels outside California (by any means – air, boat, car, train, etc…), either to another State or out of the Country  you required to quarantine for a minimum of 10 days (if you experience no symptoms) or 14 days (if you show any symptoms) prior to your return to campus.  The quarantine period begins on the day you return home.

While it is possible this may change further between now and our spring break, we wanted to make everyone aware of this revised policy, so you can make your plans.

We are truly grateful to everyone for your support and patience as we have, and continue to navigate these uncharted waters. Monday, March 1st will indeed be a very special day for our school, as for the first time in almost a year we will have every student back on campus. We are thankful for you all ad appreciative of your partnership, thoughtful questions and community engagement.

Thank you,

The Administration
