Dear IRDS Families,
We are writing to inform you that this afternoon a student in our Kindergarten tested positive for COVID-19. The student was not at school today, but was present on Monday and Tuesday. Our Kindergarten class is now closed for the rest of this week leading into winter break. Following the guidelines from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and the CDC, the families with children in this class, and faculty and staff connected to this class have been directed to quarantine for the next 14 days, and be tested for COVID-19.
We are grateful that the student is asymptomatic and feeling healthy. We know you join us in wishing this child and family a quick and complete recovery.
As always, we are here to address any questions you may have. For questions specific to your child’s or family’s health, we suggest that you reach out directly to your physician and review the Department of Public Health website for further information.
We greatly appreciate your collective efforts to keep our community healthy by taking precautions both at home and on campus. Throughout the winter break and ongoing, we continue to urge our school community to follow guidelines and protocols set forth by the State and County in order to do our part to slow the spread of Covid 19. This will help us prevent future class exposures and closures. In addition to adhering to safe Covid practices, please continue to stay in communication with us regarding any symptoms, potential exposures, and test results.
We wish you a safe and happy winter break.
