HOS Search Committee Update

Dear IRDS Parents,

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Head Of School survey, it allowed us to more specifically understand your priorities and for that, we are grateful.

The 4 most prevalent values identified from the survey include:

1. The appreciation for Jewish Education and Values.
2. The special, warm community that makes up our school.
3. The educational approach of the institution.
4. The strength of the teacher-student relationship.

The search committee is moving forward in our hunt for a new leader of our school. As mentioned in the previous update, the search has multiple steps including:

Step 1 – Make the announcement and advertising for the position.

Step 2 – Obtaining faculty, staff and community Input (Survey)

Step 3 – A series of Interviews:

1. Initial Screening Interview
2. Search Committee Interview
3. Community Interviews (Teachers, Administration, Parents and Board Members)

Step 4 – Contracting and Transition Plan

We are currently in our initial stages of interviews. We are hoping to move into the second round of interviews by mid December.

Please, rest assured that your preferences (as identified in the survey) are being included in the selection criteria throughout this entire process. We are searching for someone that is:  Professional, authentic, supportive of the community and of the staff, as well as someone that has open communication.

The survey is now complete, however, the committee is always open to any community member who would like to add anything further. Please let us know what your thoughts or comments are by emailing or calling us to discuss.
